Baby bump @ 36 weeks

Our friend Jenny came over today to take a few belly pics before the big day. I snapped this for Mattie with my cell phone...

Also, we had our 36 week check up today with the Dr. and we are 1 cm dilated and 80% effaced. She is head down and ready to come in the next couple of weeks.... yikes/ yay!

Baby Shower fun!

On July 30, we had a family/friend baby shower for baby girl Ernest at Kristi & Kyle's new home. I can't express how much love, laughter, and good times were spent. Thank you Jolie, Kristi, and Grandma Speer for making it a awesome day!

We had the whole Speer gang up from Las Vegas, and down from Logan for the whole weekend... we broke in the new casa, and enjoyed spending some family time all together! We bbq'd, played in the kiddie pool, played cards and ladder, etc. It was so nice to have a house that could fit/ sleep everyone comfortably for the weekend. We had a blast!

The following Thursday, we headed to Heber for our yearly Ernest family trip. We didn't make it there till Thursday (due to work schedules, baby prep classes, etc), but none the less, got it some quality time with Steph, Noah, Levi, Amy, Taylor, Molly, and Grandma & Grandpa. It was gorgeous weather and we had a great time enjoying the beautiful property with everyone that was there (we missed the McMillins, Clair, and Cameron's).

8 weeks to go.... whoa!!!

Sorry for not keeping up on the blogging, but then again we have been busy preparing ourselves for our new arrival and all that comes with life + baby. We are about 8 weeks away before our first baby girl arrives and we couldn't be happier. We get excited talking about what she'll look like, what sports she'll play, how the dogs will respond to her, her wants and needs, etc. We couldn't be more blessed and grateful for this amazing gift, easy breezy pregnancy, and all the support and love from our friends and combined families.

We have begun our 6 week labor and delivery class up at the hospital every Monday night, and we are learning more and more about how, why, and what the @#$%!! It has definitely been a learning experience for us to understand how she will make her entrance ..... labor is intimidating! We hope to handle it well with positivity, relaxation, and a bit of bravery. I'm lucky to have Matt, he has been super duper throughout this whole experience. He brings a sense on calmness and humor to the situation :) Speaking of humor, he got to try on the baby bump belly our first class to get a idea of what we women go through on a daily basis....enjoy the cute pic...

We have been shopping and preparing baby's room for her arrival.....it's been super fun to shop for a little girl. And Mattie has put together furniture and painted like a champ!

Third trimester here we come!!

Our new fence at the new house!

YAY! We (Mattie and with help from our friend Kyle, I was just the foreman on the project) finally put up a pretty fence to seclude our backyard and to contain our two pups. I forgot what a luxury it was back at Archard to have a fully fenced yard...sitting outside (rain, snow, sunshine, just plain cold) while the dogs play and do their deeds was beginning to be a pain in the ass. So..finally we have a big fenced area for us and them to enjoy! I always say this, and I'll say it again...Mattie is awesome! I am so thankful to have him as my hubby. He works hard to make sure all of my (and his) wants and needs are met. Enjoy the pictures...it's so pretty!

Baby Ernest at 16 weeks!

There it is..the baby bump finally made its debut in the 16th week. Bernie is cooking right along and not giving me too much grief (aside from wicked headaches, cravings for citrus fruit, and cheeseburgers). We will hit 16 weeks tomorrow, and will find out if Bernie is a 'he' or 'she' the Friday before Easter. We have already placed bets (I told Mattie to prepare for a girl), and either way it goes, we will be thrilled either way! 

Meanwhile, we are settling in to our new home quite nicely. Finally unpacked, and now on to the placement of decor and what nots. Its feeling more and more like a our home as each day passes. We are so stoked to have a bigger, nicer place in a wonderful quiet neighborhood. Also, we found renters for our Archard house, and they move in April 1st..woot woot! Mattie has been working extra hard to make the house super nice and clean for the new tenants. He has been awesome! I am so thankful for all of his hard work and all that he does to make our life together easier, stable, and better.

We are having a ball as a family, and can't wait to find out what happens next in our crazy journey.
